Howard County is in demand for the planned community of Columbia and for the luxury estate lots and homes in the Western areas. Howard is also in demand because of the highly ranked public schools.

HOWARD COUNTY real estate offers some of the highest ranked public schools in Maryland. Families who select homes close to preferred public schools are pleased with the Howard County communities that offer an easy commute by MARC Train to Baltimore or Washington, D.C. and access to the Washington or Baltimore Beltways by Route 95 North/South. Western Howard County is rural and offers wonderful estate lot home sites for luxury homes. Also popular with golfers with several golf oriented communities. The average price in most single family communities is about $900,000 for homes built after 2000.

Columbia is a planned community in Howard County with construction beginning in the 1960s and continuing today. Columbia and the 10 villages offers a urban atmosphere for a rural county. The Columbia Mall is very popular with upscale shopping and convenient to all.
